Dearest Gentle Reader,

Please join us for Masks & Mischief: A Bridgerton Masquerade, a masked ball in the spirit of the Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte television series! Enjoy dances in the mode of those shown on the series to the music of a live string trio and light refreshments in a fanciful historical style. Join us in fantastical or historical costume of the period 1760-1825 or masquerade costume as seen in the opening episode of Season Four, and be sure to wear a mask!

This is a dance-focused event: the primary activity will be dancing, dancing, and more dancing, though we will also have space for period games, including miniature Pall Mall! Please see the Dance page for more about the dancing.

A preparatory dance class will be held in Middletown, Connecticut, on March 22nd, along with the class the afternoon of the ball. All dances will be taught at the ball by our professional dance caller, Susan de Guardiola, but advance practice will make the evening go more smoothly, especially if you are not an experienced dancer or used to this sort of dancing! Music will be provided by an excellent string trio experienced at playing for dancing: Catherine Miller on violin, Marnen Laibow-Koser on viola, and Sammy Wetstein on cello.

The base ticket price includes the dance workshop on the afternoon of the ball, an evening of dancing and light refreshments, and a souvenir dance card. The prep class on March 22nd may be purchased separately through our shop.

Ticket sales are strictly limited to 50 people so we have ample room to dance! Purchase at our shop now!

This event is intended for adults, but young people ages 13-17 may attend in the company of a parent or guardian and should dress appropriately to the event.

We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!

Your hostess & dance mistress,
Susan de Guardiola
